Slaters Bridge

The Little Langdale probably has the finest stone 'packhorse' bridge to be found anywhere in the world. Built during
the period 1650 to 1750, probably replacing wooden bridges. A packhorse bridge is easily recognised by its simple arch construction.

The Langdales are sprinkled with historical slate mining works. Hodge Close Quarry makes
for a lovely undulating walk provides dramatic views into the quarry pond. It is a particularly popular spot for
scuba divers.
